Blogmas #9 | Emoji Book Tag

Hello everyone!! ❄️ I hope you are all having a wonderful and magical day. Lately so many of you have told me that you really like the emojis I use πŸ˜† First of all, thank you!! I’m glad you guys feel that way cause I really like using them. I think they add a lot of color and personality to the posts. So, when I saw this tag I KNEW that I just had to do it. It consists in taking your top 5 most recent emojis and relate them to books you’ve read. After picking my emojis I also created a prompt for each and picked my books from those (I’m sorry for doing so many tags, but I promise that I’m preparing great content for the next couple of weeks). I’m not sure who the creator is, but I found this tag at Reading, Reading, Reading. I think this will be super fun and I hope you guys like it ☺️!

πŸ˜‚ Emoji #1: Laughing Face πŸ˜‚

A book that had me crying of laughter

I’m going to bet that this is probably the most used emoji of most people (or at least some variation of it). The book I picked for this one isn’t surprising AT ALL, and it is The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan. I bet that even those of you who haven’t read the Percy Jackson series know that it is pretty funny. This installment is my favorite (along with The Last Olympian) and a lot of that is because of the constant bickering between Thalia and Percy. I don’t like Thalia very much, so I thought it was hilarious whenever Percy made a sarcastic comment about her or something like that πŸ˜…

πŸ˜‘ Emoji #2: Expressionless Face πŸ˜‘

An annoying character that makes you mad

Expressionless? Since when is this expressionless? I think that this is more pissed off than expressionless 🀨

For this prompt I’m choosing Grace Blackthorne from Chain of Gold. I will NEVER be able to explain how much I hate her. She is one of the most infuriating characters that have ever existed. I don’t freaking care what happens to her in what’s left of the series. I don’t want her to have a redemption arc. I want her to disappear and never come back. Every single scene that she’s in is annoying AF.

😍 Emoji #3: Heart Eyes 😍

A book I loved

Today I wanted to share a book that I don’t talk much about. Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott was incredible and so, so, SO beautiful. This is one of those rare cases in which the movie and the book go hand in hand–neither is based on the other. The characters are so realistic and it is noticeable that the writers and producers put a lot of work into learning about Cystic Fibrosis to create a story that really demonstrates how difficult it is to live with that condition. I learned so much and I thought that watching two people fall in love without any kind of physical touch was very interesting. I recommend both the movie and the book (they’re almost identical). And no, this isn’t like The Fault in Our Stars πŸ‘€

πŸ˜• Emoji #4: Confused Face πŸ˜•

A disappointing book in a series

I couldn’t think of any other book besides Blood Promise by Richelle Mead (book four in the Vampire Academy Series). I had such high hopes for this book because I thought the direction it took was unexpected and had so much potential. But then… Almost nothing happened. I was really hoping for more struggle and conflict between Rose and Dimitri, which happened at the end but only in two scenes. The first 2/3 of the book was very bland and, honestly, kind of boring.

πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Emoji #5: Facepalm πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

A book with an absurd or weird plot-line

Definitely Without Merit by Colleen Hoover. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you are the type of person that enjoys unusual books with super weird characters, this is the perfect novel for you. I can’t even describe the plot, much less characters. Just know that this is about a very bizarre and dysfunctional family going through some difficult situations. Even though this was all messed up, being able to understand the characters and how they became who they are was enthralling for me. Before picking this up, make sure that you’re intrigued by it because if you’re not, you will NOT like this. This is for a very specific target audience.
