Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award, The NOPE! Book Tag, and The Pumpkin Spice Latte Tag.

Hello everyone! I hope you’ve all had a great week ☀️ I don’t know about you, but for me these past few days have blown by. I guess it’s because I’ve been very busy, but at least that means we’re closer to Christmas ☃️!! Today, I bring you a very long post because I’ve had the great honor of being tagged in one award and two book tags!! I really didn’t want to delay these, so I decided to do them all in one go (which I’m really questioning right about now 👀). Even though I do tend to rant on these kind of posts, I’ll try to be as concise as possible with my answers so that it doesn’t drag on too much. Thank you to everyone who tagged me and I’ll be linking their blogs down below, so please check them out 😄!

#1. Which book series do you wish you never read?

I don’t really regret reading any series, however I still question why I picked up Rebecca Serle’s Famous in Love trilogy (actually a duology) 🤔 I read this years ago and didn’t like it that much. Besides, the second book ended in a cliffhanger and the third one never came out.

#2. Do you read best at night or in the day?

I read whenever I can honestly. But, since quarantine started, I’m reading more during the nights — it’s my way to unwind and relax. Though, when I’m really into a book, there’s no way that anyone can take it away from me. I don’t do ANYTHING until I finish it. It’s not ideal and often messes up my day 😅

#3. Do you have any advice on how I can improve my blog/writing?

I don’t think I’m the best person to give advice since I’m still learning myself (and also I think you’re blog is amazing). Just make sure to write things that interest you and that you enjoy talking about. I think it can be pretty easy to let yourself be influenced by everyone else, which is not bad AT ALL. I just mean don’t let that keep you from writing what you want to write 😉

#4. Which fictional characters do you wish you knew in real life?

This question comes up so much in tags and I always say Magnus Bane. So this time I’ll say Verity (from Verity by Colleen Hoover), maybe she’ll tell me what actually happened at the end of that book 🙄

#5. If you could visit any fictional world, where would you go?

Currently, From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout. It all sounds beautiful with the Blood Forest and Atlantia… 😍 I would love to got there, but only as a tourist 😬

I nominate:

Of course, no pressure. If it’s not your type of thing or you’re too busy don’t worry about this ☺️

My Questions:

  1. Which is one of your favorite book characters ever and why?
  2. Which is one of your LEAST favorite book characters ever and why?
  3. What book left you speechless after finishing it?
  4. If you could pick one book that everyone in the world had to read, which one would it be?
  5. What is one of your biggest pet peeves in books and writing?

The NOPE! Book Tag

Riddhi @ Whispering Stories nominated me for this tag and I’m super excited about it. I don’t usually talk about things that I don’t like (though I’m becoming more comfortable with it recently 😬), so this is a great way to branch out! Her answers to all these were hilarious and so true, so definitely head on to her blog and read the post. This was created by Zoe over at All Booked on Youtube

Let’s begin!

NOPE! Ending: a book ending that made you go NOPE either in denial, rage or simply because the ending was crappy.

The ending of Lord of Shadows isn’t bad or crappy, but I couldn’t believe that actually happened. It was devastating and heartbreaking 💔

NOPE! Protagonist: a main character you dislike and drives you crazy.

I think that Tris from Divergent is kind of annoying. I never finished Allegiant, but in the first two books I didn’t like her very much.

NOPE! Pairing: a ‘ship’ you don’t support.

Now, that we’re talking about Divergent, let’s just say I’m not the biggest fan of Tris and Four either 🤷🏽‍♀️

NOPE! Genre: a genre you will never read.

I don’t want to say that I will never read a specific genre. I’m always open to different types of books and I think they’re all important. But, if I had to choose one, it would be Non-Fiction only because it’s the one I read and enjoy the least.

NOPE! Book Format: book formatting you hate and avoid buying until it comes out in a different edition.

I don’t hate any type of book format. They’re all great and work for different types of people with different responsibilities and lifestyles. I personally have never listened to an Audiobook, so I guess that would be my answer, but I’m not against them. In fact, I’m looking forward to the day I can listen to one, but currently, that’s not possible for me.

NOPE! Trope: a trope that makes you go NOPE.

The I’m-not-like-other-girls trope is HORRIBLE 🙄 It’s so overdone and stereotypical. Whenever I read it, it makes me want to pull my hair out.

NOPE! Recommendation: a book recommendation that is constantly pushed at you, that you simply refused to read.

My family is constantly pressuring me to read The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. I don’t want to say that I’ll never read it, but I don’t think this is the type of book I’ll enjoy 😕

NOPE! Cliche: a cliche or writing pet peeve that always makes you roll your eyes.

I don’t really like Purple prose. Yes, it’s beautiful, but it has a time and place. I don’t like when authors decorate every single thing that they write. I much prefer plain, simple writing.

NOPE! Love Interest: the love interest that is not worthy of being one.

Definitely Patch from Hush Hush. I just don’t get it 🤨

NOPE! Book: a book that shouldn’t have existed.

I sincerely believe that every book has a purpose and is important in some regard. Yet, I’m still trying to understand the relevance of That Boy by Jillian Dodd. I’m sorry if you’re a fan, but NOPE.

NOPE! Villain: a villain you would hate to cross.

I would hate to cross Dolores Umbridge because if I did, I would kill her without a second thought 🔪🩸 And I really don’t want to be a murderer 😒 something really bad would undoubtedly happen.

NOPE! Death: a character death that still haunts you.

There are many, but let’s just say that the ending of Mockingjay is very indeseable (that’s in Spanish but there’s no direct translation and that’s the word that best describes it, sorry 😬). I know it’s supposed to be a pivotal moment or something, but I just don’t understand why THAT character had to die.

NOPE! Author: an author you had a bad experience reading for and have decided to quit.

Again, I don’t like to just quit on authors because there is always room for growth and I could love any of their books. However, since I read Shiver and didn’t like it (after having high expectations), I have been avoiding Maggie Stiefvater. I really want to read some of her other books, but I just can’t bring myself to it.

Again, no pressure if you guys don’t want to this tag ☺️ I nominate:

The Pumpkin Spice Latte Tag

I was tagged for this by Cherelle @ Cherelle the Bibliophile. Her blog is wonderful and so fun, definitely check it out if you haven’t yet!

🎃 Pumpkin Spice Latte 🎃

A book you didn’t think you’d love

Definitely S.E. Hinton’s That was Then, This is Now. It shines a light on how people grow apart with time (sounds depressing but it’s good).

🍎 Hot Apple Cider 🍎

A book that got you a bit hot under the collar

The Bride Test by Helen Hoang is very steamy, which was a bit unexpected.

🍫 Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate 🍫

A book that felt like a warm hug

I recently finished In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren and even though I didn’t love it, the Christimas-y vibes were very welcomed and definitely made me even more excited for the holidays (if that’s even possible).

🍂 Maple Pecan Latte 🍂

A book you enjoyed that was hard to get into

Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. I hate bugs, so this was disturbing, but I actually read it twice. The second time around I enjoyed it much more and was able to really appreciate the story.

💨 London Fog 💨

A vanilla character

Wanda from The Host without a doubt!

☕️ Hot Buttered Rum ☕️

A book that was velvety smooth to read

Even though it’s supposed to be kind of a sad book, I would pick Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott. It was short, easy, and heart-warming.

❄️ Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew ❄️

A character whose temperament is icy cold

Zara Dearborn from Queen of Air and Darkness. She is a b*tch.

🍂 Salted Caramel Mocha 🍂

A book that you’re salty about

I’m still a bit salty about Blood Promise by Richelle Mead (the fourth book in the Vampire Academy series). I was very excited for it because I thought it had so much potential, but it was very disappointing.

🍯 Honey Bee Latte 🍯

A character who is sweet

Blaire from Kiss My Cupcake. She owns a bakery and is always making amazing sweets and desserts, besides the fact that she is an incredibly good person of course.

🍂 Gingerbread Latte 🍂

A character you’d take home for Christmas

Is it mean if I pick Dominic from Love Her or Lose Her? His love language is Acts of Service, so I think he would be pretty helpful 😅

I nominate whoever is in the mood to do a fall tag ☺️

This is probably the longest post I have EVER written, so if you’re still here thank you so much and props to you!! I would love to know your answers to these questions, so please let me know in the comments ☺️ I hope you all have a great day!
