What is the Liebster Award?

“The Liebster Award is an award that exists only on the internet and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.”

This information is from The Global Aussie’s page.

Questions from Naemi:

#1. What is a trope you can’t help but love, even though it’s overused?

As basic as it may sound (and I really couldn’t think of anything else) I would have to pick Insta Love. If you don’t already know, I am a sucker for romance. It’s my favorite genre and I absolutely love it. Because of that, I don’t mind seeing a bit of ‘love at first sight’ sometimes, specially when I’m in the mood to read light-hearted books. Don’t get me wrong, I know this isn’t the best trope out there, and it’s definitely not reasonable or realistic in most scenarios, but I do enjoy it very much.

#2. Describe your perfect quarantine day!

My perfect quarantine day is just to have a calm day. I really enjoy waking up, reading, writing and watching TV. Even though this may sound as what everyone’s been up to… Not me. I’m Latina, which means that my family always has chores for me to do and my mom, specifically, isn’t at ease unless she thinks that I’m busy doing something. So, I love the days where we just sit down and relax as a family.

#3. If you could have any fictional pet, what would you choose?

This is a hard one. I guess I would like to own Church, the cat from the Shadowhunter Chronicles. He’s super smart and loyal. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of cats, I would definitely make an exception for Church.

#4. What is your favorite and least favorite thing about blogging?

My favorite thing about blogging, so far, is the community and being able to share my thoughts on what I read. I really don’t have anyone to talk about books with, so this has been refreshing. My least favorite thing so far… I think it might be that sometimes I feel obligated to write, even if I don’t want to. However, I’m doing my best effort to only write when I’m feeling up to it. It can be very easy to wear yourself out, which would eventually lead to me resenting my decision of starting a blog. Besides, I do this for my own personal enjoyment, so it shouldn’t feel as an obligation.

#5. If you were stranded on a deserted island all alone, which fictional character and which author would you choose to join you and why?

This is so hard as well!! I guess for the character I’ll take Magnus Bane, cause then he can make things appear and we could live a comfortable and luxurious life in an island. Also, he could just takes us back to civilization in a boat or something. For the author I would take Colleen Hoover. Not only because she is my favorite, but because I think it would be a hilarious experience.

#6. Describe your favorite book using emojis or GIFs, but don’t tell us what it is. Let’s see if someone can guess it in the comments!

So, I can’t pick one favorite book (in general), so I’ll do my favorite romance novel. I know I will be horrible at this so please bear with me.

😡💋💄🍓👕

Do you know what it is? Guess in the comments!! 🤣🤣

#7. If you could have any character from a book teach you one skill, what would you learn and who would be your mentor?

Automatically I thought bow and arrow, which would mean my mentors could be Katniss Everdeen or Alec Lightwood… So, I’m changing the skill cause as much as I love these characters they would be incredibly annoyed with me. I would also really like to learn some of Cress’ skills (from the Lunar Chronicles). I think that being a hacker is very cool and I wouldn’t mind learning a thing or two from her.

#8. Have you ever dressed up as a character from a book?

I don’t think I’ve dressed up as many characters. The only ones I can think of (and of which I found proof of) are Junie B. Jones and Elizabeth Bennet. I used to love Junie B. Jones growing up. I thought she was hilarious and I think I read almost every single one of those books. I also dressed up as Elizabeth Bennet and let me tell you that it was mediocre at best. Unfortunately, I will not be showing my pictures because they’re horrible (I’m not photogenic), but trust me, I looked a little ridiculous. I had a lot of fun though.

#9. What book are you proudest of forcing on other people? (For their own good, of course…)

I think I might be proudest of Just Listen and Verity. Just Listen I’ve mentioned many times before because it’s one of the books that made me truly fall in love with reading. Verity I read this year and I think that absolutely everyone should read it. It’s one of the most disturbing things I have ever read and it’s amazing. Honestly, if you haven’t picked it up yet, please please PLEASE do. I promise you won’t regret it.

#10. What is your favorite blog post that you’ve ever written and why?

I’m very new to blogging, so I don’t have much choice (which should make this easier, but it doesn’t). So far I’m very proud on my post ‘What is the truth behind Verity by Colleen Hoover?‘ (am I really mentioning this book and author again? Yes I am🤣🤣). That book DESTROYED me. Everyone that is reading this right now, please, do yourself a favor a go read it. You must know that it’s amazing cause I’ve mentioned this book and author several times already. But it’s because it is amazing. Absolutely astounding. Then you can go read my rant and we can discuss (don’t read my post unless you’ve read the book, there’re thousands of spoilers).

#11. Which post that someone else wrote have you enjoyed recently?

I really liked a post made by A Little Shelf-Righteous this week. She talked about adults reviewing YA books and how that affects the reading community. It was so well written and I agreed with so much of what she said. Go check it out!
