Top Ten Tuesday | Books with Colors In the Titles

This tag was created by The Broke and the Bookish and now it’s hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This was so hard to do (I couldn’t even come up with ten). I didn’t know that I barely read books with colors in the title until I had to make this list.

#7. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

I included this book in my list, but I haven’t finished it yet. In all honesty, I DNF’d it. It wasn’t really what I wanted to read at the time but I will definitely give it another chance in the future.

#6. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne

I am actually halfway through this book. The writing style isn’t my favorite (cause I’m not a fan of most classics). However, so far it’s very interesting and I’m enjoying it.

#5. Black Beauty by Anna Sewell

When I first read this book I was very reluctant and I didn’t want to like it. I criticized everything that I could and I insisted that it wasn’t good. Nonetheless, this novel is great. I think it’s fun and I had a great time reading it (even though I didn’t acknowledge it at first).

#4. Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren

Unfortunately, this book disappointed me. I have really loved Christina Lauren’s most recent novels and I was very excited about this one. However, it didn’t live up to my expectations (which were set a bit high). Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad nor boring, but I did expect it to be more fun.

#3. Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

I loved this book. I thought it was an amazing romance (even though I didn’t enjoy the political aspect very much) and I loved the main characters so so so much (specially Alex). I am very excited to continue reading more books by this author.

#2. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

Scarlet isn’t my favorite installment of the Lunar Chronicles, but it’s great. This series in general is amazing. This book in particular is a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, but it’s incredibly original. This world and storyline are wonderful and I can’t recommend it enough.

#1. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Is Obsidian a color? Maybe it doesn’t count, but in this case it will. Obsidian (which has an AMAZING new cover, I am blown away (the original one was very weird)) is a pretty good book. I really liked this series and even though the first novel is a little cliché, I liked it a lot. I thought this take on aliens was very interesting and I really liked everything that happened — lots of romance, angst and misunderstandings (perfect for a 2000s YA series).

Which of these books have you read? Have you liked them or not? Let me know!
