Top Ten Tuesday | Most Read Authors

This tag was created by The Broke and the Bookish and now is hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

So this week’s topic is a freebie, meaning that we list whatever we want. I am very new to blogging, which means that I’ve only just started doing this tag (I think this one is maybe my second one?? Not sure). A few weeks ago the prompt was to list the authors you’ve read the most books by and I was really bummed that I didn’t get to do it, so I will be doing it now (I’m really excited about this cause I don’t really know which ones it will be!!).

#9. Miranda Kenneally with 8 books.

I really like the Hundred Oaks books series. If you don’t know them, they are 8 YA contemporary, romance and coming-of-age novels and they are incredibly cute and heartwarming. I love every single one and I feel that they don’t get as much recognition as they should. Also, this author just recently released a new book. It hasn’t gotten great reviews but I’m really excited to read it in spite of that.

#8. Jeff Kinney with 9 books.

So, I was a huge Jeff Kinney fan and I still own some of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. I must admit, they kind of lost their appeal for me when I realized that they all basically followed the same storyline, only with new situations and jokes. Nonetheless, I do think these books are great for younger kids, considering that they have great humor and the illustrations are very funny as well.

#7. Richelle Mead with 9 books.

I really enjoyed the Vampire Academy series because I thought it had a very original story and take on vampires. Immediately after finishing it, I started reading the Bloodlines series. I haven’t finished it yet because, for some reason, this author has kind of always been a slow read of mine. However, I will be finishing it and I have really high hopes for its ending.

#6. Sarah Dessen with 11 books.

I believe that Sarah Dessen is an amazing YA author (given that her books were what hooked me into reading). So, it’s no surprise that she’s in the list. I love her stories because they are super sweet and always carry a good message.

#5. Rick Riordan with 11 books.

I LOVE Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I LOVE The Heroes of Olympus. Those are the first ten books. I’m in the process of reading The Trials of Apollo and about to start Magnus Chase as well. I don’t think I should give any further explanations because Rick Riordan’s name speaks for itself.

#4. Colleen Hoover with 12 books.

Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors ever, which justifies why I read so many of her books. I haven’t read every single one, but I’m planning on it. She writes real stories that absolutely DESTROY you. Her characters are real people that make mistakes in situations many of us face on a daily basis. If you haven’t read anything by her yet, I recommend Verity and It Ends With Us (though, my personal favorite is All Your Perfects).

#3. Cassandra Clare with 14 books.

If you like the Shadowhunter books, there is no way that Cassandra Clare isn’t on your list. I’ve read The Mortal Instruments (6 books), The Infernal Devices (3 books) and The Dark Artifices (3 books). I am also reading her current series The Eldest Curses and The Last Hours. I feel like this author gets a lot of hate because her first two books aren’t the best (which is true), but the Shadowhunter world has grown so much and she has done a wonderful job in expanding it. I love the diversity and the many different tropes that she includes.

#2. Aurora Rose Reynolds with 21 books.

I am very surprised that Aurora Rose Reynolds isn’t first on my list. As I’ve said in previous posts, this author could be considered by guilty pleasure. However, I am not ashamed to admit that yes, I do like her books. These are not, by any means, the most amazing romance novels ever. In fact, they are short, simple, steamy and probably considered problematic by most (because of how the relationships are displayed). However, I read her books because I think they are fun and whenever I am not feeling my best or if I’m in a reading slump, I know they will cheer me up.

#1. Jennifer L. Armentrout with a whooping 25 books.

I am surprised… but not really. A few years ago I used to say that Jennifer L. Armentrout was my favorite author. Even though I don’t share this sentiment anymore, I do like her books and I do think she’s a good author. I’ve read the Lux Series (5 books), the Covenant Series (5 books), the Wait For You Series (I don’t know how many there are cause they are romance novels), The Dark Elements Trilogy, The Problem With Forever, Till Death and several of her novellas. Those are a lot of books, definitely not for everyone, but I binged them and I had a great time.

What are some of your most read authors? Please let me know if some of these are on your list and whether or not you like them as much as I do!!
