Back in her hometown of Ruby Falls, Aria Heart is determined to find herself and the happiness that has always felt just out of reach. Something that would be a lot easier to do if her parents weren’t so close by, reminding her just why she left town as soon as she could, and if the house she just purchased wasn’t already giving her problems.

Just when Aria starts to second guess her decision, Tide Goodman knocks on her door and shoves his way under her defenses. Is it possible that the happiness she’s been searching for is attached to a man like Tide, the guy she crushed on in high school who didn’t even seem to know she existed? A man with an adorable daughter and baggage of his own?

In order to find out, she’ll have to put everything, including her heart, on the line one more time.

Author Bio: Aurora Rose Reynolds.

Aurora Rose Reynolds is a New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author whose wildly popular series include Until, Until Him, Until Her, Underground Kings and Shooting Stars.

Her writing career started in an attempt to get the outrageously alpha men who resided in her head to leave her alone and has blossomed into an opportunity to share her stories with readers all over the world.

I have an incredibly soft spot for Aurora Rose Reynolds, and she is my go to author for quick romance novels that help me destress after a hard day or week.

Most of Aurora’s novels are insta-love or second chance romance, which I know almost no one likes because they go too fast, but that is the POINT. These books are supposed to be straight-forward, cute and beautiful novels that suck you in and make you forget the world around you for a while. Yes, they might be a little ridiculous, but that’s part of their charm.

“Sometimes you gotta put people in a box, so you don’t get your feelings hurt.”

About the book itself, I enjoyed it a lot and read it in practically one sitting. From the get-go, I really liked Aria and how she differed from the rest of the characters. It’s odd to see a character from her background in Aurora’s books, so I really appreciated getting to read from her point of view. Also, her situation with her family and how she struggled with that seemed very real and made me understand her so much more. However, I do think that the author could’ve done a lot more with these characters and their story. Don’t get me wrong, this was super entertaining and a lot did happen, but I just felt that after the main struggles, everything resolved itself pretty quickly.

Along the story there were definitely elements that we’ve read about a lot before (such as single parents, divorce, and broken families), but there were new aspects of it that I rarely ever find in romance novels. As I mentioned above, this could have definitely been a longer book and I would have loved for the author to expand on these topics further, but it does work pretty well they way she decided to do it.

“I don’t even think I know what love is. Every relationship I’ve had in my life has been toxic and filled with stipulations.”

Overall, the Ruby Falls series is not one of my favorite collections by this author, but it is pretty good. I think I do prefer book #1, Falling Fast, because it has more of an action punch and the stakes feel much higher. But, this story and its characters are different, and it works. This is the perfect book for when you feel overwhelmed and need a stress reliever. I do recommend it if you’re a fan of fast romance with low drama and heartwarming characters.
