Goodreads Synopsis.

Rebels, royals, and monsters wage war over the Mytican throne in the shocking fourth book of the Falling Kingdoms series, from New York Times bestselling author Morgan Rhodes.

CLEO: Reeling after a bloody showdown in Limeros ending with Amara’s abduction of the water crystal, and a vacancy in the Mytican throne, Princess Cleo must cast aside her feelings and look toward her kingdom with the eyes of a Queen.

MAGNUS: With the kingdom in chaos, Princess Lucia still missing and quite possibly in danger, and a shocking realization about Cleo, the steely prince is once again torn between love and duty, leaving him wondering whether he’s strong enough to rule his people.

LUCIA: The young sorcercess has had her vengeance after the cruel death of her first and only love. Heartbroken and unable to trust anyone, she allies with the awoken Fire god, who also seeks revenge.

JONAS: After escaping death by the skin of his teeth, the defeated rebel—along with a mysterious stranger–leader reunites with Princess Cleo, only to find himself a mere pawn in a dangerous hunt for the elusive Kindred.

KING GAIUS: Abandoned by Melenia and betrayed by his own children, Gaius flees Mytica and sails to Kraeshia, where he attempts to ally with the famously brutal emperor across the Silver Sea.

My Thoughts.

People, it’s official! The romance has BEGUN. As you may probably know, my favorite genre is romance. Obviously, that is not the reason why I am reading these books but boy oh boy, am I glad that I get to see actual love in a world that is bursting with hate.

In regards to the story I don’t even know how to express everything that I am feeling. This is one big mess and I have absolutely no idea how it will be resolved. The plot has changed so much throughout these four books that it is honestly incredible. I think this series relies heavily on character choice and, at this point, you never know what they’re going to do.

In this installment we got to see several characters change sides. Even though most of these were expected, I did not think it would be done so ‘agressively’. I was really taken aback by how many times we witnessed them being tortured and murdered, to the point that I seriously thought this book shouldn’t be categorized as Young Adult (but that was just me being a little exaggerated). And also, on this note, can I just say how much I do not like Amara and Lucia. Honestly, I cannot stand those two. I have never liked Lucia, even though everybody in this freaking book adores her. And, Amara… Well she’s an arrogant, selfish, backstabbing, manipulative and conniving b**ch. I admit, they both add a lot to the story, but I don’t care. I don’t like them.

If every mortal looked at others as their friends, not as their enemies, the world would be a much better place, wouldn’t it?

Frozen Tides was an amazing continuation to this series that included several new point of views. I must admit, I definitely did not want to read some of them, but this does not mean they were any less important. Once again, we witnessed several shocking deaths, something which has definitely made me realize that we have no idea who will survive till the end.

One of the most exiting moments was the end. So much happened and I cannot understand how there are supposed to be two more books to this series. However, I have come to realize that in Mytica, things are never what they appear to be. This means that I am 100% positive that soon enough there will be about a thousand new plot twists that will have completely change the course of this story (which is exactly what happened about a million times in this book).

I am very glad that I decided to pick up this series. I am having so much fun and the world has completely enraptured me!
