She is currently working on her first novel and aspires to be a book editor at a publishing house. This upcoming Fall semester, Pilar will begin a new journey at Florida Atlantic University to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. I run this blog to share my love for reading and writing. This is a space where I hope everyone feels welcome to be themselves and share their opinions. My name is Pilar (she/her) and I am a proud Dominican. I am currently majoring in English Language, with hopes of working in the publishing business.

Some of the things I love besides books are: musical theater, movies & TV, writing, listening to music, and playing piano.

How I review:

I mostly read Romance, Fantasy, Middle Grade, Dystopian and Science Fiction. I am open to pretty much anything, but what I read the least is definitely Non-Fiction, Horror and Historical.

I try to make my reviews as respectful as possible. It is important to acknowledge that authors pour their everything into their books, so I don’t think it’s nice to be overly critical of their work. I would really appreciate if everyone tried to do the same in the comments.

I don’t consider myself the best at ratings and I don’t review or rate books that I DNF (unless I read the very vast majority of it). Even though I don’t have a set system, my ratings do generally mean the following:

⭐️ 1 star – I did not like the book at all.

⭐️ 2 stars – I do not think it’s worth it, but wasn’t horrible.

⭐️ 3 stars – I liked it and finished it, but there were many things I had issues with.

⭐️ 4 stars – It was an amazing book that I definitely recommend.

⭐️ 5 stars – I love the book and there is nothing about it that I did not enjoy.

I use half star ratings, but that generally means the book falls in between of the respective categories.
