3 Amazing Book Series to read if you are Bored at Home

Starting a book series can be a bit daunting and, if I’m being honest, it can be hard to commit. Because of that, most people simply refrain from trying and would rather not risk starting a series that maybe they won’t enjoy. So, here I picked three of my favorite book sagas that are definitely worth your time.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

The Lunar Chronicles is an incredibly original story. Each book is based off a fairy tale but, believe me, they are completely unique. It takes place in the future, where humans live in the moon and amongst androids. However, as you can probably tell, life isn’t as peaceful and easy as it may seem. Soon, the main characters will have to face impossible challenges and, hopefully, defeat the Evil Queen.

I honestly recommend this series to everyone, specially if you enjoy multiple POV’s, romance, adventure, and a good ‘ol retelling.

The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Everybody knows the Hunger Games, and you have probably heard many amazing things about it. I’m just here to tell you again. This is an amazing and thrilling story. I have to admit, I have always believed the narrative is kind of slow, but it works with the rhythm and tone of the book. If, somehow, you have not heard of this series, it is a dystopian novel (takes place in a post-apocalyptic world). It follows Katniss Everdeen, who has made an incredible sacrifice and must now face the consequences that it brings, not only for her, but to everyone around her (this is a horrible description by the way but I didn’t want to spoil anything).

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

I cannot stress how good this series is. I know you have all probably heard about it and I know you probably don’t want to be disappointed by the hype, but it’s worth it. Many people give up on this series, but please give it another chance. I promise you will like it. How do I know? Well, I used to hate these books.

I knew that this author was pretty well known and that everyone loved her books, so I decided to read City of Bones. I HATED it. I could not understand what people loved, I thought Clary was so annoying, I didn’t like the ending at all, I hated how the different creatures were depicted… I did not like it. I read it two more times after I finally decided to keep going. And it was immediately better. It was amazing. So, if you decided to give up, please try again, the story unfolds quickly and the second book captures your attention instantly.

Series can be a little intimidating, but the trick is to find stories that interest you. If you have any questions on any of these or would like for me to expand a little more on them, leave a comment below!
