Blogmas #17 | Taylor Swift Book Tags Extravaganza!

Hello everyone! ❄️ I hope you’re all having a good week! As you all know, Taylor Swift released a new album 😆 For the past few days that is the only thing I’ve been listening to and, to no one’s surprise, I am obsessed. Very soon after evermore first came out I saw lots of people doing fun tags and themed posts, which made me even more excited to do some myself ☺️ So today I will be doing some Taylor Swift book tags 🎤 I hope you guys like it!

At the moment, I’m still not sure if I prefer evermore or folklore 🤔 They’re so similar and so beautiful that I don’t think there’s actually much to compare. Though, more songs from evermore have touched me on a deeper level, so I think I’m leaning more towards that one. So far, I’m loving willow, champagne problems, tolerate it, no body no crime, and happiness. Every song is gorgeous, but those are some of the ones that make me cry the most 😅

Before we begin I just want to link some of the amazing posts I saw with all of the different tags. I thought every single one of them was super fun and I loved all of the recommendations! I really hope you guys decide to check them out as well 😄

A Colorful Bibliophile | The Novel Existence | Lost in Neverland | Whispering Stories

Taylor Swift Album Challenge

This tag was originally created by Rhonda @ Rhonda With A Book

🪕 Taylor Swift 🪕

An author’s debut book

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang! If you still haven’t read it I definitely recommend it. It’s beautiful, fun, steamy, and SOO adorable 😍

[Goodreads] [The Bride Test Review]

😣 Fearless 😣

A book that scared you

I think I’ve done a pretty good job of letting everyone know how disturbing and horrible this book is. Please read it. It’s mind blowingly good.

[Goodreads] [Review] [Spoilery Discussion]

🗣 Speak Now 🗣

A book with great dialogue

Because of the plot, the dialogue is a very important part of Love Her or Lose Her, and I think it was very well done. If you’re interested in reading about two people that love each other more than anything, as well as a marriage in the rocks, you will love this book.

[Goodreads] [Review]

❤️ Red ❤️

A book with red on the cover or in the title

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard is the perfect book for this prompt 😄 Unfortunately, when I tried to read this, I didn’t like it and DNF’d it about half way through. I am willing to give it another chance, but I’m not sure when that will happen 😕

[Goodreads]

🎸 1989 🎸

A book published the year you were born

I’m very surprised to know that a book I read was published the year I was born and that is This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen. Although it isn’t the most wonderful book ever, it is very sweet and has a nice message. I had a lot of fun with it when I first read it ☺️

[Goodreads]

🐍 Reputation 🐍

A book that lived up to its hype

Definitely The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. This novel surprised me on so many levels. I loved the narrative style, the POV’s, and the story itself. It was very original and full of meaning and purpose. I even remember I did a school paper on it and my teacher was so impressed that he borrowed the book and read it too 😆

[Goodreads]

💕 Lover 💕

A favorite romance or book with a romantic subplot

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare has one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever read. I hardly mention it, but I think this might be the only love triangle I enjoyed, and I loved everyone involved in it.

[Goodreads]

📖 Folklore 📖

A fairy tale, folktale. or myth retelling

The Lunar Chronicles by Marrisa Meyer! Probably everyone knows this series, but I want to give a special shoutout to Cress, which is my favorite from the quartet 😉

[Goodreads]

🖋 Evermore 🖋

A sequel to a fairy tale, folk tale or myth retelling

Winter, the last book in The Lunar Chronicles!

evermore book tag

This tag was originally created by Star is All Booked Up

~ willow ~

a book with a character you can’t help but fall in love with

Life was a willow and it bent right to your wind.

Tom Valeska from 99 Percent Mine is one of the best love interests to ever exist. I am in love with him and will defend him to the death 🥰

[Goodreads]

~ champagne problems ~

a book with a broken relationship

You had a speech, you’re speechless. Love slipped beyond your reaches.

And I couldn’t give a reason, champagne problems.

Besides having a broken relationship, Beach Read by Emily Henry also broke me. This was beautiful and I recommend it to EVERYONE (well, if you like romance. If not you won’t like it 👀).

[Goodreads] [Review]

~ gold rush ~

a book you love with all your heart

Everybody wonders what it would be like to love you.

Breathe, Annie, Breathe is one of the books that I read very young, but I still love it and think it’s great. Because it is targeted to a Young Adult audience, I think that it does a great job of approaching very important topics in a mature way, which could be incredibly helpful for someone going through a similar situation.

[Goodreads]

~ ’tis the damn season ~

a book in which the character reconnects with their family/hometown

We could just ride around, and the road not taken looks real good now.

And it always leads to you and my hometown.

Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover! Even though this is a romance, it had a very important message about connecting with your family 😊

[Goodreads] [Review]

~ tolerate it ~

a book with a suffering relationship

If it’s all in my head, tell me now. Tell me I’ve got it wrong somehow.

I know my love should be celebrated, but you tolerate it.

Definitely Wicked Heart by Leisa Rayven, but I think that the entire trilogy applies for this prompt 😅 This is the most lighthearted of the three, but still, the main characters go through a lot. They have a lot of history and their situations in life are very different, which are all challenges that they are forced to overcome to be together.

[Goodreads]

~ no body, no crime ~

a book about murder

She says, “That ain’t my Merlot on his mouth, that ain’t my jewelry on our joint account”.

No, there ain’t no doubt. I think I’m gonna call him out.

I don’t read horror or mystery because I am a coward 😬 I think that the only murder book I have ever read is Till Death by Jennifer L. Armentrout. It scared me, but it wasn’t that bad.

[Goodreads]

~ happiness ~

a book that’s an old favourite, but you just can’t relate to anymore

There’ll be happiness after you, but there was happiness because of you.

Definitely Eleanor and Park. I really loved this book growing up and I still do. But recently I learned about some problematic things about it that have made me look at the story from a different perspective. Again, it still means a lot to me, but not the same way anymore. If you want to know more about what I mean, this link is very helpful.

[Goodreads]

~ dorothea ~

a book featuring an old (or strong) friendships

And if you’re ever tired of being known for who you know.

You know, you’ll always know me, Dorothea.

The friendship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione will forever be one of my favorites. I love all of them so much 🤗, and I loved watching them grow up and become such good and loyal friends to each other.

[Goodreads]

~ coney island ~

a book that made you cry or completely destroyed you

Did I close my fist around something delicate? Did I shatter you?

Everything that I read you mean? I cry with everything 😥 The most recent one was Layla by Colleen Hoover. It was such a mind-blowing story about love and grief. Go read it ☺️

[Goodreads] [Review]

~ ivy ~

a book that was an unexpected favorite

I wish to know the fatal flaw that makes you long to be magnificently cursed.

Touching Spirit Bear was very surprising for me. I had to read it for school, which immediately meant that I didn’t have very high expectations for it. But, I really liked it. It talked a lot about strength and growth, which really inspired me to try things I was very scared to do at the time 😄

[Goodreads]

~ cowboy like me ~

a book about thieves, or criminals

Eyes full of stars, hustling for the good life.

Even though I haven’t read it yet, I know that Six of Crows is the perfect book for this prompt. Don’t worry, I really want to read it to see if I love it as much as everybody else 😌

[Goodreads]

~ long story short ~

a book that made up your childhood

And my waves meet your shore, ever and evermore.

I really liked the Poison Apple books while I was growing up. They’re supposed to be mystery/thrillers for kids, but they’re not actually scary. They were very fun, properly developed stories. I would even be open to rereading them now… Yeah, I loved them that much 😳

[Goodreads]

~ marjorie ~

a book with a moving message

Never be so kind, you forget to be clever.

Never be so clever, you forget to be kind.

I’ll just say The Sun is Also a Star again. Go read it, it’s pretty good.

~ closure ~

a series in which you NEED to read the next book

Yes, I got your letter. Yes, I’m doing better.

I know that it’s over, I don’t need your closure.

I really need to keep reading The Trials of Apollo 🙈 I read the first book and then stopped cause only three of the series were out and I really didn’t want to be left in a cliffhanger. The five books are out now and I still haven’t continued it! 😫 I really need to get on that.

[Goodreads]

~ evermore ~

the perfect conclusion to an extremely long (but worth it) series

I had a feeling so peculiar.

That this pain would be for evermore.

I’ll just say City of Heavenly Fire. I thought it was a great ending for The Mortal Instruments and I cried a lot. I don’t know if it’s my favorite finale, but it was very well done.
