Blogmas #5 | The Jingle Bell Book Tag
Hello beautiful readers! ❄️ I hope you have all had a beautiful day and week ☺️ Today I bring you The Jingle Bell Book Tag! I’m super excited (as always) for this one because the prompts look very fun and original. I don’t know who created this tag, but I found it because the wonderful Riddhi @ Whispering Stories sent it to me for my Blogmas Posts. Thank you Riddhi 🥰!
I took the questions from the blog Kristin Kraves Books.
“All I Want For Christmas Is You…”
What book do you want to see under the Christmas Tree?
Because I mostly read ebooks, I cherish all of my physical copies 🤗 At the moment, if I could have any book surprise me under the Christmas Tree, it would be The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I’ve heard wonderful things about it and the story seems so interesting and unique.
“Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time…”
What book that you have read this year have you enjoyed the most?
Mmmm… I don’t want to reveal anything about my favorites list quite just yet 🤔–I’m saving that for later in the month. So, I’ll share one that I really really liked. One of the books I’ve had the most fun reading this year was Red, White & Royal Blue, and about 90% of that is because of Alex. He is one of the most cleverly funny characters I have ever read about and I laughed hysterically several times while reading this novel.
“It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas…”
Which book has most festive look to it?
Well, I don’t have any books for this prompt, but I think this cover for A Christmas Carol is very festive and cute ☺️
Elf
What book unleashes your inner child?
Some of my favorite books growing up were the Diary of a Wimpy Kid ones. I think the first few are great, and the humor is perfect for the format and narration. I recently rewatched the movies and remembered how much I used to love them. These books are big part of why I became a reader and fell in love with books. I still own several of them and I think they’re great for kids.
The Grinch
Your favourite villain…
I think this is a fun prompt because, usually, in movies and TV the villains are my favorite characters 😅 I’m one of those people that loves getting to know their background story and how they became who they are. BUT, in books, I hate them most of the time.
So, on this occasion I chose Jonathan Morgenstern. I actually really like this character and his story in The Mortal Instruments. His reasons, plans, and objectives were clear and justified (not that that makes what he did ok, obviously 👀), and I loved what happened with him at the end of the series. I thought it was very nice to see that what-could’ve-been and it helped me understand the character even more.
The Holiday
Name your favourite TWO couples…
I have about a thousand, but ok.
First, Jason and Sloane. They are so CUTE. They both go through impossible situations in this book, but they love each other so much and try to do everything in their power to be together and happy. I won’t say much else cause I will be talking much more about them in a future post 🤫, but they are one of my favorites ever.
And the next couple is… Edward and Bella!! HA, kidding. It was a bad joke, I know 😆
The actual second couple I chose are Stella and Michael from The Kiss Quotient. I love what Helen Hoang did with these characters, as well as the Aspergers representation. Several people close to me have Aspergers, so being able to read from someone that understands their perspective was something that I deeply appreciated. Also, I love Michael’s character. He was always understanding and comprehensive about what Stella needed, but it wasn’t one-sided, cause she also worried a lot about his well-being and happiness. Truly a wonderful balance 👌, and I would love to read more about them if I could. ADORABLE.
What book would you like to give as a present to your followers?
One book that I would like to give as a present to all of you is A Thousand Splendid Suns. You probably have heard about this author because he also wrote the very famous book The Kite Runner which I still haven’t read🙈. But, I think that A Thousand Splendid Suns needs the exact same amount of recognition, love, and respect than that one. I think it’s one of those books that everyone should read at least once in their lives. If you do decide to read it, make sure to check the trigger warnings, seen as some topics might be tough to read about for some people.
I would love to know your answers for some of the prompts! And let me know if any of these books seem interesting to you.
Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me?

Reading your article helped me a lot and I agree with you. But I still have some doubts, can you clarify for me? I’ll keep an eye out for your answers.

Ah wimpy kid 😍
I agree Sebastian was a great villain!!
I snorted at that Twilight joke 😂 And I’m so happy you also love Alex! I’m really excited to read Addie LaRue, too. My parents came through and gave me a copy for my birthday, so I can’t wait to get to it!
Oh my God!! That’s great 🤩 I can’t wait to know what you think of it when you read it! And I’m glad to know at least someone considered by bad joke amusing 😅
Aww it’s so sweet how much physical copies mean to you because you read mainly ebooks! Same thing here, just that I love the books I own because many of the books I read are all from the library! Thank you so much for the recommendations, I’ve definitely heard lots of amazing things about it and am definitely even more encouraged to start on it hearing from you!! Kudos to you for posting everyday!!
Thank you Cherelle!! I hope you do read some of these books ☺️
Ooh great answers!! I’m still in awe that you’re managing to post every single day… 🤭 A non-reader friend of mine recommended A Thousand Splendid Suns to me and it’s currently on my TBR — I’m honestly sort of scared to approach it after the traumatizing experience that was The Kite Runner 😅 Now that I know you enjoyed it, I might have to push it up the priority list! Great post Pilar!! ❤️
Believed me, I’m struggling a lot wit Blogmas 😅 But it’s fun! And I hope you do decide to pick up A Thousand Splendid Sun. It definitely isn’t an easy to read, but it’s totally worth it. I’m glad you liked the post! ☺️
Haven’t heard of that last book you said- but did hear of Kate Runner.
I really hope to do this tag—-I might only struggle at one questions. Most of the couples I love aren’t in books, but in musical theatre
I know how you feel! I really wanted to include musical and film couples, but I’ve been talking so much about movies that I wanted to make it exclusively about books ☺️
I really hope you decide to do it as well!!
There is also something I tend to not see in book- I feel like I skim past romance. It is just very hard for me to notice it in a book
