For most people, not finishing a book is not that big of a deal, but for me it definitely is. Most of the time, I know which books I will definitely enjoy and those that I won’t, so I don’t really bother to read books that I don’t think I will like. Mind you, that doesn’t mean that I never get out of my comfort zone, simply that if I’m not really feeling like reading a specific type of book or genre at a certain time, I don’t force myself and leave it for another time. However, there are many books that I haven’t finished and most of them you most likely know and love.

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Mass.

When I first read Throne of Glass I thought it was alright, but there wasn’t much that made me want to read the next book, so it’s no surprise that I didn’t even finish it. I don’t really know why, but I didn’t really click with this story. However, I definitely haven’t given up. This series is still in my TBR because I think that I just tried to read at the wrong moment of my life. Hopefully, when I start it again soon I will enjoy it much more.

All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven.

As far as I am concerned, I did finish this book, because I am not planning to read the few chapter that I have left. I think this was the first truly devastating novel that I ever read, and when the BIG thing happened (won’t specify cause then I’ll spoil the book for those that haven’t read it) I spent a good hour sobbing my eyes out. The moment that that happened, I lost all interest in reading what was left. I don’t really know the real ending but, at this point, I don’t care either. Maybe I’ll finish it in the future, but I don’t see that happening any time soon.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth.

I first read Divergent about two years ago and I really enjoyed it, same with Insurgent. However, I didn’t think they were as amazing as everyone claims they are. I read about 35% percent of this book and by that point I was kind of uninterested. I think the story was becoming a bit dull for me and I just stopped reading it. I’ve always intended to go back and finish it because I am curious about how it ends (I’ve never seen the last two movies), but I never get around to actually picking it up again.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas.

Again, Sarah J. Mass… I imagine some of you think I probably have something against her. I really don’t, I just couldn’t get into the story when I started reading it (the exact same thing that happened with Throne of Glass). This series is also currently in my TBR because I haven’t given it a real chance. However, I’m not gonna lie, in the few chapters that I read I didn’t like much of what was happening. In spite of that, I am very optimistic about this book, so I hope it gets better as I read more of it.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

The only reason I read this book was because of how much I loved Eleanor & Park. However, it is clear that I didn’t enjoy this one as much. I wasn’t liking the story or the way it was written, I also didn’t like Levi (the main male character) or his relationship with Cath, so that didn’t actually make want to continue reading either. I think that all the content we got on what Cath wrote (Simon and Baz’s story) was unnecessary, not because I disliked it (in fact, I think Carry On sounds very interesting and it’s on my TBR) but I just think it distracted us too much from the actual storyline.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer.

I started this book immediately after finishing The Lunar Chronicles, but, once again, I just wasn’t captured by it. I was really hopeful for this one when I read the synopsis, but I don’t think it lived up it. Nonetheless, I will not discard this novel because I think I might really enjoy it in the future. But, as of right now, it’s not really what I am wanting to read.
