The Outstanding Blogger Award #1, The Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award #2, This or That Book Tag, The Thanksgiving Book Tag
Hello beautiful readers! ❄️ So this is a post that was supposed to go up before December even started… 🙈 Obviously, I couldn’t get it done on time 😬, and I felt that I had to prioritize my daily Blogmas posts. Still, I had so much fun writing this and I can’t wait for all of you to read it! So, as you have probably noticed I was nominated for two awards and two book tags 🤩 I want to thank everyone who tagged me, I’m so so SO grateful and honored 🥰 I will be linking everyone’s blogs down below so definitely check them out!

- At the end of 2020, every blog that ping-backs the creator’s original post will be entered to win the 2020 Outstanding Blogger Award.
#1. What is your most treasured childhood book?
Definitely The Velveteen Rabbit. As I’ve said before, it was the first real book my parents ever got me and it was for my seventh birthday ☺️ I finished it in one day and loved it. I still have the copy they gave me and it’s one of the things I treasure the most in my life.
#2. What is your favorite holiday? Why?
Christmas!! 🎄 It is beautiful, joyful, and cozy. Also, this time of year always makes me feel hopeful ☃️
#3. What are you currently reading? How do you like it so far?
I’m currently reading Brave by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which is the third book in the Wicked Trilogy. I thought the second book was actually very good, but this last one has started off kind of slow… 😕 It hasn’t hooked me yet.
#4. What is your favorite sport (either to play or watch)?
Baseball ⚾️! My family (and country, honestly) is very into baseball, and I’ve grown up watching it. Also, I think it’s the only sport I know everything about (meaning the rules, positions, techniques, and such) and actually understand what’s going on 😅
#5. How do you organize your bookshelves (alphabetical, by color, favorites, etc.)? Is there a reason why?
I have a kind of weird organizational method. One shelf is dedicated to my TBR (the books I have physical copies of at least), and then every other bookshelf is ordered into categories. I have two for all my contemporary YA’s and romances, two more with all my series, another one with all the classics, etc.
#6. Would you prefer to be freezing cold or burning hot? Why?
What? Weather? Food? Beverages? 🤔 It doesn’t really matter 😅 I prefer cold for everything. Actually, I prefer food warm, but if it’s between freezing cold and burning hot, I’ll pick cold ’cause I don’t like burning my tongue or the roof of my mouth when I eat 👀
#7. Do you like TV series or movies more? Why?
For the last year or two I’ve gravitated more towards TV series. I think that most movies are too long nowadays, and I get tired of them pretty easily 😕 With TV shows, it doesn’t matter how many seasons there are because finishing episodes makes me feel like they go by much faster (even if they don’t) and therefore I’m making progress (even if I’m not).
As always, so many of you have already been nominated, so don’t feel any pressure AT ALL to answer my questions. I know you are all incredibly busy–I just wanted to tag you guys so that more people can discover your amazing content ☺️

#1. What inspires you to blog?
First of all, my love for books and writing ☺️ I love being able to write regularly and do so about all of the books that I read. Now that I’ve been doing it for a couple of months, I’m doing it for the community as well. I think it is said all of the time, but everyone here is so nice and it’s great interacting with all of you 🤗
#2. Pick a food to eat forever.
That’s hard! I think I would choose tacos 🌮 They’re one of my favorite foods ever and very versatile, so I could change up what I want to put in them and then it wouldn’t be that repetitive 😉
#3. Do you aspire to write a book someday? If yes, what genre?
Yes! Even though I love romance, I don’t have any original ideas for a romance novel 😕 However, I am in the process of writing a YA contemporary (it’s still on very early stages, but at least I’m making progress), and I also have an idea for a Historical Fiction novel that I’m itching to write 😆
#4. One book you will protect with your life?
One of the many books I will protect to death is Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins. I think this book lives in the shadow of the other two, but it also deserves all the appreciation in the world 😄 I love it.
#5. One thing that you started doing during the lockdown and are still doing?
Blogging. Is that cheating 😅? I don’t know if I’ve started anything else that I’m still doing…
Since I literally did this award about a week ago, I already nominated several people in that pervious post.
This or That Book Tag
I was tagged for this by Meg over at Meg’s Magical Musings! Thank you so much Meg ☺️ This was such a fun tag and her answers were great too, so definitely go check them out!
Rules
- Mention the creator of the tag (Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks)
- Thank the blogger who tagged you.
- Tag other people to do the tag and spread the love.
🛋 Reading on the couch or reading on the bed? 🛏
Either. Sometimes when I can’t concentrate I move to the couch and spend hours reading there without realizing it, but I also read a lot in my bed. If I had to choose one I would say the couch cause then at least my posture wouldn’t suffer as much 😬
🧚🏽♀️ Main character: Male or Female? 🧜🏼♂️
I honestly don’t mind. Most of the books I read have female main characters, so I guess that would be my answer, but I just care about their personality and story. That’s the most important part about it. I need to like them.
🍩 Sweet or salty snacks while reading? 🥨
I don’t eat or drink while I read. But if I were eating a snack it would probably be sweet 🍫 I have a huge sweet tooth 😊
📚 Trilogies or quartets? 📚
Definitely quartets! I think this opinion is stereotypical, but quartets usually end up being better than trilogies. This might be solely because there are far more trilogies out there, but I don’t know. I feel that when an author makes the decision to write four books is because they have thought a lot about the story and know how long it’s going to take them to tell it properly 📝 So they need more than three books. I’m reading way too much into this, but I guess that’s my answer 😅
❄️ First Person or Third Person POV? ❄️
I’ll be honest, 98% of the time I don’t even notice if a book is on first or third person. I don’t mind AT ALL. So, this might be the only one I don’t have an answer for.
🌙 Night or morning reader? ☀️
Since quarantine I’ve become a night reader, but I try to read whenever I can or whenever I’m in the mood.
🛍 Libraries or book stores? 🛍
Book stores only because Libraries in my country aren’t that great 😬
😂 Books that make you laugh or books that make you cry? 😭
Books that make me cry, without a doubt. Fine, call me a masochist if you’d like, but I think that that just means I feel and understand the story in a deeper level. If I cry is because something has truly touched me (But I do cry a lot, so maybe I’m just very sentimental 🤷🏽♀️).
🖤 Black or White book covers? 🤍
Is this really question? I’m not really sure if it means the actual covers or something else 🤔? I’ll say black cause I prefer that in almost anything.
❄️ Character driven or plot driven stories? ❄️
Definitely character driven. I think that the plot is almost completely dependent on the characters. and I definitely prefer learning more about them and the events in their lives that shaped their personalities ☺️
The Thanksgiving Book Tag
I don’t live in the U.S. so I don’t really celebrate thanksgiving. Still, we should always be grateful and appreciative about the people and things we have in our lives. I was tagged by Georgia over at Lost in Neverland for this tag. Go check out her blog!!
Rules:
- Link back to the original creator of this tag (Millay @ Millay’s Musings) and the blog post you saw it on.
- Answer all the prompts
- Name three things you’re grateful for
- Name three books you’re grateful for
- Nominate at least three other bloggers
- Have fun!
🥧 Pumpkin Pie/Muffins 🥧
A book that you always return to at a certain time of year
Almost every summer I reread Breathe Annie Breathe by Miranda Kenneally. It is one of those books that make me incredibly happy and I always have a great time with it 😄
🦃 Turkey 🦃
A book that you tried due to its popularity, but found a little bland
Where should I start? Divergent, The 5th Wave, Throne of Glass, City of Bones (though I really like all the other books), Shatter Me… I could go on and on. It’s not that these aren’t good, in fact, I’m considering rereading some of them soon to give them another chance, but I didn’t like them much the first time I read them 😬
😋 Gravy 😋
A character whose personality creates more “flavour” in the book
Definitely Anna Lightwood from Chain of Gold. If you’ve read this book, you know exactly what I’m talking about. She is so confident and cool 😆 Every single scene she was in was amazing and I really hope we get to see even more of her in the next installment.
🥔 Mashed Potatoes 🥔
A book that is such a delicious and enjoyable read
This question is kind of weird 😂 What do you mean delicious? Anyways, I think I’ll go with The Crown because almost everyone hates it but I love it, so for some reason it’s more enjoyable for me to reread. Is that weird? I think that sounds weird 😅
🥗 Stuffing 🥗
A filler book in a series
Crossed by Ally Condie (the second book in the Matched trilogy). Honestly, this entire series is a big question mark for me, but this installment in particular… I don’t even know what the point of this book was. I remember that when I finished it I was so confused cause nothing happened 🤨 I think it would’ve been fine as a duology. Another book that’s a filler in my opinion is Sea of Monsters (the second book in Percy Jackson & The Olympians). I know many of you will disagree with me, but it’s my least favorite one in the series 👀
🥖 Homemade Bread 🍞
A character in a book who perfectly represents the idea of “fresh”
I’m currently reading The Christmas Pact by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward, and Kennedy (the male protagonist) is the perfect answer for this prompt. He is hilarious and so fun. It is definitely refreshing after constantly reading about brooding and cocky love interests.
🥚 Deviled Eggs 🥚
A book with a misleading title
The obvious answer here is the Twilight series. They’re all very pretty titles, but what’s the point 😂?? They have nothing to do with any of the books, and even if some fans try to make them make sense, they really don’t 🤷🏽♀️ But I also need to make a special mention for The Hooker and the Hermit. It’s an amazing book, and the title is so horrible that I love it now and mention it whenever I can. I promise it’s not how it sounds like. Well, it is, but it isn’t 😉
3 Things I’m Grateful for:
My family, our health, and everyone who’s out there risking their lives to help others.
3 Books I’m Grateful for:
All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover, Just Listen by Sarah Dessen, and Emma by Jane Austen.
What are some of the things you are most grateful for this year? What’s a book you guys would protect with your lives? Let me know and thank you for reading!
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
Your article helped me a lot, is there any more related content? Thanks!
I am currently writing a paper that is very related to your content. I read your article and I have some questions. I would like to ask you. Can you answer me? I’ll keep an eye out for your reply. 20bet
Your article gave me a lot of inspiration, I hope you can explain your point of view in more detail, because I have some doubts, thank you.
I have read your article carefully and I agree with you very much. This has provided a great help for my thesis writing, and I will seriously improve it. However, I don’t know much about a certain place. Can you help me? https://www.gate.io/es/signup/XwNAU
Thank you very much for sharing. Your article was very helpful for me to build a paper on gate.io. After reading your article, I think the idea is very good and the creative techniques are also very innovative. However, I have some different opinions, and I will continue to follow your reply.
At the beginning, I was still puzzled. Since I read your article, I have been very impressed. It has provided a lot of innovative ideas for my thesis related to gate.io. Thank u. But I still have some doubts, can you help me? Thanks.
Same here, quartets! But for me the reason is just that I have a longer time with the characters… thank you so much for the tag Pilar!
Congratulations 🎉 I think I would prefer the cold too! Oh gosh!! I can never watch tv shows! I loose patience! Libraries in my country isn’t that good either. So I prefer bookstores. Christmas is a lovely festival 🥰. U seem so organized! My bookshelf is a mess. I mean I know where my books are obviously…but no one else would be able to find out a single stuff. Plus I don’t have lot of space so, I just have to make them all fit. I am so sorry, for not being able to comment in order😅😅😅. But you get it.😋
Thankx for nominating me!! I will get to it soon! ❤️
I lose patience with movies!! With TV shows I just get on a roll 😄 And believe me, I might seem organized, but I always end up with a mess. I’m always organizing and reorganizing by bookshelves cause I want them to be neat, but the minute they look good, I find an excuse to start taking books out and moving them 😓
I can’t wait to read your answers!! ☺️
I can’t believe someone actually named their book “The Hooker and the Hermit” 😂😂😂 That’s hilarious!
And kudos to you for wanting to write historical fiction! That’s the one genre I’ve never really gravitated towards, since I’m extraordinarily lazy when it comes to research and I’m way to afraid I’ll get everything wrong 😁
And thank you so much for tagging me! I will definitely answer these questions at some point – they sound so fun! 🤗
Yeah… That’s a very misleading title 😂 And I think it’s ironic that I’m interested in writing Historical Fiction because history has always been my least favorite subject in school and uni. And don’t worry, I’m also terrified in getting something wrong 😅
Can’t wait to read your answers! ☺️
Ah, thank you for doing this! This was such a fun post! The Velveteen Rabbit is also super nostalgic for me, though I remember crying a lot over it 😂
I really should reread it, cause I know I loved it and I remember bits and pieces. But now that I think about it, I don’t really remember much of the actual story…😬
I’m glad you liked the post Alex!! Thank you for your comment ☺️
Aw, thank you ❤️
I love your Christmas graphics and your use of emojis! They add a little pinch of color.
I love Stephanie Perkin’s books. They’re so cute!
I am also one of those people that doesn’t like The Crown. The love triangle ruined it for me.
Thank you! I’m glad 🥰 I really wanted to give the blog more of a Christmas-y feel.
Yeah, I’m not surprised about The Crown 😅 I’m one of the few people that actually enjoyed it. And Stephanie Perkin’s books are adorable! But I’m really intrigued by the Thriller she came out with a few years ago…👀
Congrats on the awards Pilar!!! Your answers are all so on point and I had so much fun reading them. Hahaha, I also started blogging during lockdown… at least SOMETHING good came out of being stuck at home 😆 And thank you so much for the nomination!! 💗 I love your questions so I’m definitely going to have to answer them in the near future. Great post ❤️
Thank you!! I’m glad you liked them ☺️ And yes! Blogging was one of the few good things that happened this year 😅 I can’t wait to read you answers!
Congratulations on the Outstanding Blogger award nomination!! I loved reading your answers!!! Also, I love Anna and the French kiss trilogy too and the Selection is an amazing book!!!
Thank you!! ☺️
Wait- how many quartet can you even think if- can’t name like any. The only one I think of is Lord of the Rings (only if you include The Hobbit). Just a bit curious
Well the thing is that because I read a lot of romance, there are lots of those that come in quartets. But generally some that come to mind are The Lunar Chronicles, the Rugby Series, and the Blood and Ash Series (the latter isn’t finished but it will be a quartet). Aurora Rose Reynolds and Ilsa Madden Mills have a few that I like as well.
Thank you for the nomination! The Crown and all The Selection series are such enjoyable reads for me too 🙂
I know right!! I think they’re great ☺️ And I can’t wait to read you answers!!
