“Life isn’t fair, but as long as we hold onto the beauty, it’s all worth it.”

Patrick ‘Blaze’ Kelly has seen and lived through a lot. He finally found a place in the world as a member of the Broken Eagles MC. Running two businesses and being part of a brotherhood is good enough for him, or at least he thought it was.

Millagros “Millie” Delgado is on an adventure per her mother’s last wishes, and what an adventure it’s been! Two new jobs, one of which has her surrounded with good-looking bikers, new city, and new friends. The only thing she wasn’t counting on was the intense attraction that sparks to life when she meets bad boy Blaze.

She should stay away from the inked-up biker, but she can’t resist the temptation of his baby-blue stare. Blaze knows Millie is his, and he will do anything to protect and keep her safe. As they get tighter, mysterious things start to happen that make him believe someone doesn’t like them together.

Will Millie get scared off, or will she realize that Blaze is her very own Happily Ever Alpha?

Get ready for a boom-tastic good time with this insta-love!

It is no secret that I really enjoy novels of the Until Series and the Happily Ever Alpha World. They are all insta-love, super sweet, fluffy, and steamy novels that explore many topics like family, friendship, loss, action, and others.

I wanted to like this. I really, really did. But I didn’t as much as I hoped.

The prologue was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect set up in term of characterization, emotion, and motives. And then, when the story actually began… It was plain. I was not impressed with the romance, the meet cute, or the dialogue. The author definitely managed to make the story her own, and it is different to the usual structure of these novels, but I would have a loved a little more background and development of everything. That is really why I didn’t enjoy it–because I didn’t feel a connection. Still, it wasn’t so bad that I wanted to stop reading it. I was curious and intrigued about some plot elements, but characters drive plot, so not being able to connect with them meant that I was never fully immersed in the story either.

HOWEVER, what did salvage this story a little and drove me to give it a full three stars was that ending. WOW. What an exciting and action packed finale!! One of my favorite things about this world is how there is always a serious conflict (usually life or death) that makes for a great end scene. Although this one was off-the charts entertaining, it would’ve benefited from a better setup. While it was mentioned and was somewhat of a recurring theme throughout the novel, it essentially came out of nowhere. Despite that, it was a 5 star ending.

Overall, I had good hopes for this one, but didn’t really meet my expectations. I wouldn’t deter anyone from reading it, but I think it would be most enjoyable for fans of this author and world. If you’ve never read anything of either before, this is not the one to start with.
