This post is a little late, but it doesn’t matter. I love autumn and all the cozy feels, so I’ve been very excited for this tag. Even though I live in the Caribbean and seasons are practically non-existent, this is the time of year when the temperature’s not as hot, which I really appreciate. So, without further ado, let’s start with the tag.

So, you guys will have to hear a lot about this series, because it is way too good and I’m obsessed. From Blood and Ash definitely has a vivid setting. I am the type of reader that struggles with descriptions. Sometimes I get a little confused about everything the author is trying to get me to imagine and I just close up. It’s not uncommon for me to just picture whatever I want and roll with that. However, some authors describe settings so perfectly that even I can’t overlook them. That is the case with this novel. If you haven’t read this yet, you’re missing a lot.

🐳 Nature is beautiful…but also dying. Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief. 🐳

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover is the perfect book for this prompt. Her writing is always beautiful, but, in this particular novel, she made a wonderful job at distinguishing each POV (in a very unique way). The way the story unravels is absolutely heart-wrenching. A difficult novel to get by but definitely worth it.

🇩🇴 Fall is back to school season. Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new. 🇩🇴

The book I chose for this prompt is Vivas en su Jardín (Alive in their Garden) by Dedé Mirabal. It tells the story of four sisters who fought relentlessly against one of the worst tyrants that ruled my country (Dominican Republic), called Leonidas Trujillo. They were incredibly brave and even started a movement against him. Because of that, Trujillo ordered his people to kill them. This was such an important event in our history that November 25 (the day they died) was officially proclaimed as the ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’. The book was written by the only one of those sisters that survived. Obviously, I already knew this story and how everything happened, however, it was very interesting to read from Dedé’s POV and learn some of the backstory. If you’re interested in this I definitely recommend it and, also, in November I will be writing a longer post about them so watch out for that!

🏠 In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend time with the people we love. Name a fictional family/household/ group that you’d like to be a part of. 🏠

Is it too obvious if I say Shadowhunters? I love the Shadowhunter world and I would love to be a part of it. Granted, it isn’t the most luxurious job ever, but it’s pretty cool. I wouldn’t mind being a warlock either. I would love to befriend Magnus Bane.

🖋 Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside. Name a book wherein someone is telling a story. 🖋

I’m sorry but the only book I could think of is The Arabian Nights. I know I must’ve read some other book that fills this criteria, but that’s the only one that came to mind. Obviously it is very long and I haven’t read the entire thing, but I’ve read several stories and I really liked them. I think they’re very interesting, fun, and insightful.

⚰️ The nights are getting darker. Share a dark, creepy read. ⚰️

I don’t read creepy books because I am a coward. There are literally two books that I’ve read that could be considered creepy. The one I chose for this prompt is Till Death by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which is both a mystery and romance. Very entertaining and definitely keeps you on your toes. When it came out, I read it about three times. However, I would say it’s more appealing for romance readers, cause if you like hardcore mystery, this isn’t it.

For this I chose PS I Like You by Kasie West. I think this author writes very cute stories that definitely warm your heart. This is one in particular is very sweet. I had a great time when I first read it and I definitely recommend it.

🍁 Fall returns every year. Name an old favourite that you’d like to return to soon. 🍁

There are many books that I want to reread it, so it was kind of hard for me to choose only one for the prompt. Nonetheless, I settled on Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen, who is one of my favorite YA authors. For some reason, I’ve been yearning to reread this book in particular and I really hope I get around to that sooner rather than later.
