One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London.

This book was very cute and sweet, with many aww-worthy moments. Even though it is categorized as an adult romance (because of the ages of the characters) it isn’t steamy. If I’m not mistaken there is one intimate scene that isn’t that descriptive and kind of short. It started off pretty slow, but when the plot started to unveil it definitely picked up the pace. I also loved the way the author told us the story. She included articles, tweets, text messages, podcasts, a group chat from a group of friends… Everything was very original and entertaining. The fact that she did this allowed us to see everything from a wider perspective and it actually felt like I was watching the Bachelor (hate comments and everything). Yet, the ending wasn’t surprising. It was obvious from the very beginning who she would end up with, even though I kind of enjoyed how everything went down. One of my biggest issues was the whole situation with Ray. It was indescribably annoying. I hated it. Overall, this story is worth it, but not mind-blowing.

Kiss My Cupcake by Helena Hunting.

This was sweetness overload, but in a good way. I liked this book way more than I expected. For some reason I was hesitating to pick this up, but I’m so glad that I did. The bickering between the main characters was very fun to read and there was a very smooth transition from rivals to lovers. I’m still not sure if I liked the competition element and also the conflict towards the end of the book. It wasn’t really that big or impactful. I feel that the author just tried to put a situation there to fulfill the criteria, but, at the end of the day, it wasn’t that influential. However, I really liked this and I definitely recommend it. A short and very entertaining read!
