Top Ten Tuesday | Characters I’d Name a Pet After (aka Some of My Favorite Characters Ever)

This tag was created by The Broke and the Bookish and now it’s hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

Hello guys! How are you all? I hope you had a nice Monday and that your week turns out great. ☀️ Today, for Top Ten Tuesday, I decided to change up the topic a little bit! I don’t know about you guys, but if I’m naming a pet after a character, I better LOVE that character. I think that only those that make my list of Top Ten Favorite Characters EVER should have the honor to share a name with a pet of mine (I know, it’s a huge honor 😌). So today, I will not only be giving you the names I would consider for a pet, but also a list of ten of my favorite characters in both TV and books! Keep in mind that this isn’t a definitive list and of course it will continue to change a lot as I continue to read and watch new things. Anyways, let’s go to the list!

#10. Emma

So I read Emma by Jane Austen for the first time earlier this year and I completely fell in love with her 😍! I know there are so many people that can’t stand her, but I think she is so strong, determined, and smart. She is different from the rest and (though she might be a bit spoiled) she has a big heart and good intentions (even when she’s wrong). I loved the 2020 film adaptation and I also watched the BBC mini series. I definitely recommend both of them.

#9. Nico DiAngelo

Do I even need to explain myself? Nico is my favorite character of the Percy Jackson universe, no one can top him in my eyes. He is funny and dark, and I can never get enough of him. I think his evolution throughout Percy Jackson and the Olympians and then in the Heroes of Olympus, was magnificent. I loved what Rick Riordan decided to do with the character, and I can’t wait to get to know him even more in The Trials of Apollo.

#8. Chandler Bing

Friends is probably my favorite TV show ever, so I don’t like to call favorites. However, I cannot deny that I have a very special place in my heart for Chandler. Everyone in this show is amazing, and all of the characters are great friends, but there is something about Chandler that just speaks to me. I don’t know if it’s the sarcasm, his nervous demeanor, or what. I just love him. And his relationship with Monica is so beautiful as well. She came very close to being in this list too.

#7. Alec Lightwood and Magnus Bane

Ok, ok. These are two characters, but I just can’t help but see them as a unit. True, I love both of them individually and I know they’re each their own person. I just wanted to put them together. Besides, by this point, who doesn’t know that I love Malec ☺️?

Alec has grown so much from the first time we met him. He is loyal, confident, inspiring, rational, and loving. He works towards his goals, but always keeps his friends and family as his top priority, which I really admire. Magnus, on the other hand, has proven to be so brave, reliable, and GOOD. He is just one of the best characters in this series, and I could never imagine reading a Shadowhunter book without him in it.

#6. Blair Waldorf

What’s up Upper East Siders. Gossip Girl here…

Look, Gossip Girl is definitely not the type of show I usually enjoy, but it’s actually pretty good. Blair Waldorf, in particular, is off the charts. She is classy, confident, mean, and so HER. She has never EVER taken sh*t from anyone, and she has always been herself, even when others criticize her. Even though her behavior hasn’t always been the best example (and she’s definitely not the best person either), I think she is a role model when it comes to loving yourself and knowing that you’re worthy.

#5. Amy Farrah-Fowler

A few weeks ago I finished watching The Big Bang Theory and OH MY GOD!! If you haven’t watched it, please do. It is WONDERFUL. There is no words to describe Amy. She’s just… WOW. I mean, I don’t know what I should say. She is so WEIRD and bizarre. She does very unusual things, her personality is unique (to say the least), she has the most unexpected reactions to everything… Overall, she is absolutely AMAZING. Her growth throughout the show is admirable and a treat to watch. Besides, her relationship with Sheldon is hilarious, but also beautiful.

#4. Oliver Queen

I mentioned Oliver a couple of days ago, and I just wanted to give him another shoutout. I had forgotten how much I loved this character and I’m so grateful that I’m rewatching the series, because I never want to forget again. Oliver is not perfect. He is the furthest thing from perfect, and he has gone through so much. However, he has been able to overcome every obstacle and come out as a better person in the end. I only know half of his story right now, but I can’t wait to see how much more he will grow and how the characters will evolve in the second half of the show.

#3. Bellamy Blake

Bellamy… What can I say about him that I haven’t already said before? From the very first episode, he is a force to be reckoned with; a natural leader that always tries to do what he thinks is best. Nonetheless, The 100 is a morally gray show, and all of the characters in it are as well. No one is completely good, but no one is completely bad either. All of the time, they’re just trying the best they can to keep their people safe. Bellamy’s journey throughout the show is one of the best out of everyone, but I’m so disappointed of how it ended. If you have watched the show in its entirety, check out my rant post on episode 13 of season 7. I definitely had a lot to say. There are a lot of spoilers there, so make sure you have seen that episode already.

#2. Sheldon Cooper

I LOVE Sheldon Cooper. He is one of the best characters that have ever been created. I know many people disagree with me, but I have a soft spot for him. He will forever be on this list. Sheldon is different from everyone else, and he has had a hard time ‘fitting in’ during his life. But he doesn’t actually care 😂 He would much rather be alone most of the time. But, this is what makes his growth so interesting. The Big Bang Theory is 12 seasons long, and their main focus is for us to see these ‘nerds’ navigate blindly in their social lives and how hard it can be. Obviously, because of all his quirks, Sheldon is probably the one who has the hardest time. Despite all this, he is just great and HILARIOUS. He is mean, practical, and very passionate about what he loves. At the end of the day, he loves his friends and family, even when he doesn’t really want to admit it. And they love him too. Probably not as much as me, but still ☺️

#1. Felicity Smoak

THE BEST. MY FAVORITE (at the moment) is the beautiful, the wonderful… FELICITY SMOAK.

I think very few people will ever understand how much I love and admire Felicity. She is smart, funny, cocky, fierce, determined, resourceful, caring, kind, brave, hard-working, honest… I could go on and on. Again, I haven’t seen her entire journey yet, but I really doubt that something could ever deter my opinion on her. And, once again, she isn’t perfect. She makes mistakes, but she learns from them and tries to be better. She stands up for herself and for what she believes in. And she is ALWAYS there when someone needs her, especially for the ones she loves. I just love her.

I would love to know some of you guys’ favorite characters? Also, do you like the ones on this list as much as me or not?
