Blogmas #4 || The ABC Book Challenge | Letter E

Hello everyone!! ❄️ It’s finally Friday, so that means it’s time for the ABC Book Challenge! I know this isn’t a very Blogmas type of post, but I’m trying to spread out my ideas so that I don’t burn out 😬 Also, I’m so busy that I’m just trying to fulfill my self-imposed challenge until I’m able to truly dedicate all of my time to these posts. On that note, I’m also sorry if I reply to your comments and read your posts later than usual 😥 I’m trying to keep up as best as I can. But still, I hope you guys are enjoying Blogmas. I know I’m loving all of your tags and discussions, they’re so original and creative ☺️; perfect for this time of year!

Today on this challenge, I’ll be including titles that start with the letter E! E for egg 🥚, elf 🧝🏼‍♂️, earth 🌎, and… ear of rice 🌾? Why is that an emoji?? 🤣🤔

Once again, there aren’t many books in this list because I’m trying not to talk about the same ones over and over again 🙃 Despite that, I really hope you guys like them and hopefully decide to read some of them if you haven’t yet! BUT, before we begin, let’s do the Advent Calendar 😄.

The objective of this Advent Calendar is to get to know each other better and learn about some of the things we love to do this time of year! I really hope that you guys decide to participate, and I can’t wait to read your answers as well. If you want to check out the upcoming questions go to this page.

Share one or some of your favorite Christmas/Winter quotes. It can be from a book or anywhere else!

My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?

Bob Hope

Besides being a beautiful message, it is completely true. As much as I love Christmas, the things we are so used to doing this time of year (helping others for example) should be things that we do year round because it’s the right thing, not because the month or holiday says so.

I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.

Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

When something is rare, we cherish it even more, which is the case with most holidays. But, as I said before, the values it represents and the love we are used to sharing during them, should be part of our everyday lives.

Always winter but never Christmas.

C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Ok, this isn’t as Christmas related as the others, but I love it. In yesterday’s post I mentioned that I haven’t read The Chronicles of Narnia, but I love the story and the movies. Because of that, I think that this quote is quite clever. In the first book, they are doomed in an eternal winter, but without Christmas. (with my limited knowledge of the book) In my opinion this is meant to explain that in the cold winter, things tend to die and wither, but Christmas is what gives us the warmth and fuzzy feelings that we usually relate to the seasonal aesthetic.

Memorable Titles that Start with an E

Echoes of Scotland Street by Samantha Young

This book is part of the On Dublin Street series. As I’ve mentioned a thousand times before, it can be read as a standalone. However, by this point in the series we know these characters and part of their journey ☺️, so I think it’s best if you read the other ones first. Regarding the story, it had a great dynamic. We have seen Cole (the male protagonist) grow up in the previous installments, so it was very nice to see the elements of his personality that we already knew, as well as those that developed after growing up 🤗The main female character… She is a pickle. At the beginning, I was very annoyed with her and I could not understand why she had to be so judgmental 😪 I did not agree with her reasons at all. Still, I have to admit that it did make their romance far more interesting, as well as the problem that eventually tries to ‘keep the apart’.

Easy by Tammara Webber

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this book at all in my blog before, but its brilliant 🤩 It’s a romance novel set in college with our typical troubled guy and good girl. Though, don’t let that fool you 😏 Tammara Webber did an expert job at humanizing the characters and helping us understand their situations and feelings. Also, the story and the way that it’s told was perfect for the narrative 😍 I even read the companion novel, Breakable, which is the same story but from the male protagonist’s POV. I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea cause it can be repetitive, but that one is great as well because it includes retrospective. For some readers that can be a little tedious, but the author outdid herself so I didn’t mind ☺️

Earth & Sky by Megan Crewe

This is the first book in a series, and I thought it was so good that I immediately bought the series. However, it took so long to get to my house that I still haven’t read them and it’s been YEARS 😅 I don’t remember much of what happened, but I promise it is a very interesting story 😄 I do want to reread it and (hopefully) finally finish the series.

Every Last Breath by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Will I ever write a post without mentioning Jennifer L. Armentrout? I seriously don’t know if I can not mention her 😬 I’ve read A LOT of her books. This one in particular is part of The Dark Elements trilogy and, even though it’s not my favorite, it’s good ☺️ It’s a very exciting and action packed installment. A great finale for the series. And can I just say that these new covers are gorgeous 😱😍!! So much better than the originals.
